Waste Management and Pollution Control (Administration) Regulations
These Regulations make provisions for those officers duly authorised, to administer and take action with regard to offences as detailed under the Waste Management and Pollution Control Act. Specifically. if an authorised officer has reason to believe that an offence has been committed, the officer may serve an Environmental Infringement Notice on the offender.
The Regulations also detail the administration of approvals and licences of activities as specified in Schedule 2 of the Act, and provides a list of waste types deemed to be “listed waste” as specified in Part 1 (2) and Part 2 (2) & (3) of Schedule 2. These waste types are generally regarded as having a hazardous nature and/or are difficult to treat and dispose off.
