Future Developments that will Effect NT Emissions
Although emissions are expected to increase across most sectors as a result of economic development and population growth, there are a number of major developments which will significantly increase total NT emissions over the next 10 years.
These include the ConocoPhillips LNG Project and the expansion of the ALCAN Gove alumina refinery. The extraction of Liquefied Natural Gas from the Sunrise Gas fields would also result in a significant increase in emissions.
