Cinema in the River
On Friday 23 and Saturday 24 October 2009 Cinema in the River will return to the banks of the Todd River in Alice Springs.
Commencing at 7:00pm on Friday night the program will showcase some of the year's best new Indigenous cinema from Australia and overseas including the Alice Springs premiere of The Making of Samson & Delilah a feature documentary by Alice Springs filmmaker Beck Cole about the making of Warwick Thornton's Camera d'Or winning Samson & Delilah.
Cinema in the River will continue from 6:00pm Saturday night with a screening of Baz Luhrmann's Strictly Ballroom.
Screenwriting Workshop with George Merryman
On Sunday 25 October 2009 the Australian Guild of Screen Composers and the Alice Desert Festival in partnership with the Northern Territory Film Office will be presenting a free screenwriting workshop in Alice Springs.
The workshop facilitated by screenwriter and lecturar George Merryman will provide people with an idea for a screenplay with the skills to get started on the right track.
