Arts Scholarship Scheme

The Arts Scholarship Scheme is for full time post secondary arts training in either an undergraduate degree, diploma, or certificate level III (3) or IV (4). The number of scholarships awarded varies from year to year.

The scheme aims to assist talented Territorians by providing study assistance to young emerging artists under 26, commencing post secondary training in arts-related disciplines.

Objectives

Provision of training and development opportunities for young Territory artists or arts workers.

Eligibility

Individuals - up to 26 years of age.

Assessment Criteria

1. Demonstrated level of achievement within art form of chosen study.
2. Level of involvement within art form of chosen field of study.
3. Potential benefits, personally and for the Northern Territory arts sector.
4. School, community and/or arts sector support.
5. Course status and accreditation.

Funding Limit

• Degree $3,500/yr for 3 yrs
• Diploma $700/ yr for 2 yrs
• Certificate III or IV $500 for 1 year

Closing Date

Applications to the 2009 Arts Scholarship Scheme closed on 31 January 2009.

The successful applicants will be announced in March 2009.

The next Arts Scholarship Scheme will close 31 January 2010.
