Presentation and Promotion

The Presentation and Promotion category is for the support of projects which either present or promote Northern Territory arts practice. Activities may occur locally, nationally or internationally.

Costs associated purely with the development of new work are not eligible under this category, but production costs of new works and re-mount or re-development costs associated with the public presentation of previously developed work in a new context may be eligible.

Objectives

  • Employment of Territory artists;
  • Provision of showcase opportunities for, or promotion of, Territory artists; and
  • Showcasing of Northern Territory identity through arts and culture.

Eligibility

Individuals, Groups or Organisations.

Activities which aim to tour or present work from other locations into the Northern Territory are not eligible under this category.

Assessment Criteria

  1. Artistic merit.
  2. Calibre of skills and experience of the artists/arts workers.
  3. Evidence of sound financial and project management.
  4. Clear plan and proposed outcomes including a marketing and promotions plan.
  5. Evidence of employment, income generation or other benefits for Territory artists or arts workers.
  6. Evidence of community and arts sector support.
  7. Accurately costed and viable budget.

Some examples of eligible activities

  • Audience development initiatives
  • Exhibition, performance and production costs
  • 'Showcasing', including festival presentation
  • Touring expenses
  • Publication, recording and printing costs
  • Marketing expenses

Projects involving Indigenous artists, content or community involvement, must include evidence of appropriate consultation, agreement or support.

Acknowledgement

Recipients of all grants through the NT Arts Grants Program must acknowledge Northern Territory Government support. Logos for the Northern Territory Government are available here.

Funding Limit

Up to $15,000

Closing Dates

15 March (activity must commence after 1 July)

15 October (activity must commence after 1 January)
