New Arts Communities
The New Arts Communities category aims to support community based arts proposals in any art form from first time or previously unfunded applicants who need assistance in getting an arts project off the ground.
Projects which provide opportunities for collaborations with other community organisations that are non-arts service providers are encouraged, as are arts based projects that are initiated by non-arts community organisations.
The Regional Arts Fund is an Australian Government funding initiative.
Objectives
- advance the arts and cultural life of the community;
- support community or locally initiated ideas;
- actively involve local people and artists in creative endeavours.
Eligibility
Individuals, groups, communities or organisations.
Individuals initiating projects with and for communities must demonstrate strong community support and involvement in the proposed activity.
The Regional Arts Fund does not support overseas activities.
Assessment Criteria
- Artistic merit.
- Calibre of skills and experience of the artists/arts workers.
- Evidence of sound financial and project management.
- Clear plan and proposed outcomes.
- Evidence of community support and involvement.
- Accurately costed and viable budget.

Acknowledgement
Recipients of a grant through the Regional Arts Fund (RAF) must acknowledge the Australian Government and support by the Northern Territory Government by either:
- using the RAF logo in combination with the "Proudly supported by Northern Territory Government". Both logos are available here

- and/ or including the phrase “The Regional Arts Fund is an Australian Government initiative supporting the arts in regional, remote and very remote/isolated Australia. The program is delivered in partnership with the Northern Territory Government”.
The recipient must also invite the Australian Government Minister for the Arts or his/her nominated representative to attend public events associated with a project and, as appropriate, to launch or open the project.

Up to $5,000

Monday, 22 June (activity must commence on or after 17 August)
