Regional Arts Fund Networks & Partnerships
The Networks and Partnerships category is for the support of arts related initiatives that either develop partnerships; or encourage the development and maintenance of cultural networks and cooperative relationships.
The Regional Arts Fund (RAF) is an Australian Government initiative managed and delivered in the Northern Territory through the Arts Grants Program. [ more ]
Objectives
- Assist sustainable cultural, social and economic development within regional, remote and very remote communities;
- Develop partnerships which leverage financial and/or in-kind support;
- Encourage ongoing collaboration or support for cultural activities;
- Assist the development of cultural networks, especially in isolated areas to facilitate information exchange and cooperative relationships; and
- Increase employment of professional Territory artists and offer professional development opportunities for regional and remote Territory artists.
Eligibility
Groups or Organisations.
Assessment Criteria
- Artistic merit.
- Calibre of skills and experience of the artists/arts workers.
- Evidence of sound financial and project management.
- Clear plan and proposed outcomes including the details and outcomes for each partner or network member.
- Evidence of employment or income generation or other benefits for Territory artists or arts workers.
- Evidence of community and arts sector
support including each partner or network
member. - Accurately costed and viable budget demonstrating a minimum of 30% of the activity budget from other sources outside of the Arts Grants Program (including RAF).
Some examples of eligible activities
- Cultural networks and partnerships may support an art form, region, demographic, special interest group or other area.
- Partners could include local government, community groups, private
sector, state government agencies and other relevant groups.
- As an example, partnerships may be based around an art form, arts event, or a community cultural development project.
Projects involving Indigenous artists, content or community involvement, must include evidence of appropriate consultation, agreement or support.
Acknowledgement
Recipients of all grants through the NT Arts Grants Program must acknowledge Northern Territory Government support. Recipients of a grant through the Australian Government's Regional Arts Fund must also acknowledge the Australian Government. 15 March (activity must commence after 1 July)
Please note that according advice from the Department of Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts (DEWHA), activities funded through the Australian Government’s Regional Arts Fund (RAF) need be finalised by the end of this year. RAF is a lapsing program and a decision for continuation of the program has not been announced at this point.
Activities applied for under the RAF categories in the March 2008 Project Round or activities that have received RAF funding from previous funding rounds must be completed by 31 December 2008 and acquitted within 13 weeks following.
