Northern Territory Arts Grants Board
The Northern Territory Arts Grants Board provides sector involvement in decision making relating to Government arts grants, to ensure a more transparent, accountable and ‘arms-length’ process for the allocation of Arts Grants project funding.
The role of the Arts Grants Board is to assess project applications to the Northern Territory Arts Grants Program across all art forms and categories including the Regional Arts Fund (RAF) which is an Australian Government initiative managed and delivered by the Northern Territory Government through the Arts Grants Program.
Eight members have been appointed to the Northern Territory Arts Grants Board for a term of three years from 2007-2009 by the Minister for Arts and Museums, Marion Scrymgour.
The members of the new Arts Grants Board are:
Ms Rachael Clements, Film producer and Executive Producer with the Central Australian Aboriginal Media Association (CAAMA) in Alice Springs;
Ms Mary Anne Butler, Freelance artist concentrating on writing for Theatre and Film, based in Darwin;
Ms Lynette Nalyirri-Lewis, Ttutor/trainer/performer/choreographer/artistic director in the community and youth arts for 16 years in Tennant Creek;
Mr Adrian Walter, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Business and Arts, Senior Music Lecturer and Director of the Centre for Youth Music at the Charles Darwin University (CDU) in Darwin;
Ms Josie Douglas, literature and publishing background, currently a Research Fellow at Charles Darwin University in Alice Springs;
Mr Mark Smith, Musician, arts manager and Youth Services Project Officer with the Darwin City Council in Darwin;
Mr Steve Eland, Director of 24HR Art – The NT Centre for Contemporary Art in Darwin;
Mr Timothy Hill, Manager of Tiwi Design Aboriginal Corporation on Bathurst Island.
