Community Grants

Community Grants offers up to $5,000 to support community based arts activities with a strong focus on community involvement in all stages of the project.

Some examples are: developing a project for a festival, research, development or creation of new work, travel for participating community members, mentoring, intergenerational transfer of skills and knowledge.

Applications can be submitted all year round.

At least 50% of the total budget for the activity must come from sources other than Arts NT.
This may include in-kind support.

Eligibility

Individuals, groups and organisations may apply.

Activities for organisations can not include those already delivered through core program funding.
Organisations in receipt of > $100 000 per annum are ineligible

Objectives

  • expression of Northern Territory identity through arts and culture;
  • provision of development opportunities for Territory artists or arts workers;
  • increased arts participation and success; and<
  • employment of Territory artists.
  • Assessment Criteria

    1. How well the activity meets the objectives
    2. Quality of artistic outcomes
    3. Benefits to the NT community including relevance to regions
    4. Effective project planning including use of resources and a clear budget
    5. Capacity and skills of artists, arts workers and/or facilitators
    6. How the proposal will contribute to the individual, group or organisation’s future as an NT based artist/arts worker

    Projects involving Indigenous artists, content or community involvement, must include evidence of appropriate consultation, agreement or support.

    Funding Limit: up to $5,000
    Closing Date: all year round
    Notification Date: 15 working days after submission
