Professional Development
Professional Development is supported through the Quick Response Scheme as it is not available through the project rounds.
Support is also available through the Regional Arts Fund which is prioritised for applicants from remote, very remote or isolated areas. The Regional Arts Fund (RAF) is an Australian Government initiative managed and delivered in the Northern Territory through the Arts Grants Program. [ more ]
Funding for professional development must be matched by 50% of support from other sources. This support may include in-kind.
Objectives
- Expression of Northern Territory identity through arts and culture;
- Provision of development opportunities for Territory artists or arts workers;
- Enhanced community engagement with Territory arts practice; and
- Employment of Territory artists.
Eligibility
Individuals, groups or organisations.
Assessment Criteria
- A clear plan and proposed outcomes including the need, the type of development opportunity and who with.
- Potential benefits for the artist's/ arts worker's professional career.
- Calibre and skills of the artists/arts workers involved.
- Accurately costed and viable budget.
Some examples of eligible activities
- Professional Development - attendance at seminars, conference or workshops.
Projects involving Indigenous artists, content or community involvement, must include evidence of appropriate consultation, agreement or support.
Acknowledgement
Recipients of all grants through the NT Arts Grants Program must acknowledge Northern Territory Government support. Recipients of a grant through the Australian Government's Regional Arts Fund must also acknowledge the Australian Government. Funding Limit
Up to $1,500
Applicants seeking support for professional development can apply for a maximum support of $2,000 per financial year, however, can only apply for a maximum of $1,500 on any one application.

Ongoing.
Applications must be received by Arts NT before the activity commences. Assessment can take up to 15 working days. Your activity can commence during the assessment period; however you must consider that a decision may be made after the activity has occurred.
