Arts Grants Program

Arts NT is currently reviewing the Northern Territory Arts Grants Program. The review will be informed by current Northern Territory Government priorities and the development of the Territory 2030 Strategy.

The following grants are available:

Regional Arts Funding

Applications are open to the Regional Arts Fund (RAF), an Australian Government initiative, managed and delivered in the Northern Territory by Arts NT through the Arts Grants Program:

  • Rapid Response Scheme offers up to $1,500 to support arts projects that cannot be applied to within the project rounds due to their time critical nature. Applications can be submitted all year round and notification will be given 15 working days after submission.
  • New Arts Communities offers up to $5,000 to support community based arts proposals in any art form from first time or previously unfunded applicants who need assistance in getting an arts project off the ground. Applications close 22 June.
  • Artist/s to Artist/s Support offers up to $10,000 for individuals and up to $15,000 for groups to support structured relationships between artists/arts workers for a program of professional development. Applications close 22 June.
  • Accessing Arts offers up to $10,000 for individuals and up to $15,000 for groups to support initiatives that deliberately aim to improve arts access for disadvantaged community members. Disadvantage may be due to cultural, physical, social, economic, geographic or other reasons. Applications close 22 June.
  • Remote Arts Partners offers up to $20,000 a year for up to two years to support arts activities delivered in remote Northern Territory locations that encourage long term, sustainable relationships between remote artists and communities and other agencies. Applications close 22 June.
  • New Ideas offers up to $20,000 once in four years per applicant to support projects across all art forms which aim to extend art forms, arts practice or showcasing opportunities in regional and remote Northern Territory. Applications close 22 June.

Artists in Residence Education Initiative

Arts NT (NRETAS) in partnership with the Department of Education and Training (DET) and the Australia Council for the Arts is offering new project funding for initiatives that build partnerships between arts organisations and schools, including pre-schools and tertiary institutions. The aim is to build and strengthen relationships between selected arts organisations, DET and schools across the NT. Grants of up to $20,000 are available for the Artists in Residence Education Initiative in 2009. Submissions are closing 19 June.
