Funding for Gary Lang to participate and facilitate a puppeteering workshop for his new production 'Goose Lagoon' with two dancers from Gary's company and Artistic Director of Erth Visual and Physical Inc, Scott Wright.  This is an unique professional development opportunity whereby Gary Lang and his dancers will learn refine puppet handling skills in conjunction with Gary’s choreography.

Funding for professional development to young emerging artists in aerosol art design, techniques and installation.  The project will also promote skills in mentoring youth with a tailor made mentoring program accessing an internationally acclaimed Aerosol Artist/Mentor.

“Cats Meow Collective – Cabaret Boot Camp”

Funding for The Cats Meow Cabaret Collective, a platform for the professional development of Alice Springs based artists across theatre, dance, music, multi media, hybrid, puppetry and circus.  This project extends to set design, costume design, sound, lighting, stage management, coordination and production.  Support is for the development of skills with interstate and local trainers and mentoring in the areas of artistic direction, musical direction, act development, trapeze aerial circus skills, singing and vocal training, choreography and costume design/construction.

Artback NT: Arts Development and Touring

"Good, Strong, Powerful" Touring Exhibition

Funding for Artback NT: Arts Development and Touring to partner Arts Access Darwin and Arts Access Central Australia to showcase the best of Indigenous art by artists with disabilities at Mwerre Anthurre (Alice Springs), Ngaruwanajirri Artists (Bathurst Island) and Julalikari Arts (Tennant Creek).  The resulting touring exhibition will highlight the success of best case inclusive practice and celebrate diverse artistic talent.

Artback NT: Arts Development and Touring

“Click! – NT Indigenous Musicians in Photography”

Funding to develop Click! - an exciting touring photographic exhibition and catalogue.  Click! will illuminate the creative and family relationships that connect NT Indigenous musicians across time and space, using photography, text, video, objects and audio.  Click! will provide a map of the NT Indigenous musical landscape as living history.  Partnerships have been made to collect and/or provide access to photographic and written documentation with the following organisations; Central Australian Aboriginal Media Association (CAAMA), Barkly Regional Arts/Winanjjikari Music Centre, Yothu Yindi Foundation and Peter Danaja from Maningrida.

“Youth Performing Arts Project”

Funding for the development of a Youth Performance Arts work-of-excellence over two years with arts-skills delivery partners, Beyond Empathy, Australian Theatre for Young People, The Song Room and Barkly Regional Arts.  Partners will co-fund a local workshop coordinator/teacher to preserve partner workshop skills delivery and value-add to the long-term strategic performance goal with its associated social, cultural, health and employment outcomes.

“Fan Fare – Exhibition”

Funding for three main objectives: to stage an exhibition of hand made and decorated fans in September 2010 at the beginning of the 'build up'; to conduct a series of fan making workshops prior to and as part of the 'Fan Fare'; and to develop 'Fan Fare' into a craft and tourism event reflecting the Top End environment and climate.

“The Pandanus Project”

Funding for The Pandanus project - a two year program of skills, artistic and profile development in fibre art forms.  The project is a remote arts to arts partnership between Beswick weavers, Ghunmarn Culture Centre and fibre artist Adrienne Kneebone that will involve engaging with the traditional Indigenous fibre skills and exploring new or adaptive forms and techniques that increase the market profile of produced works.

“Bush Bands Bash 2009”

Funding to showcase The Bush Band Bash concert in Alice Springs, highlighting contemporary musical talent from remote Indigenous communities across Central Australia. Through a series of development processes, bands perform at a professional, well marketed and massively attended annual drug and alcohol- free event which is presented at Alice Desert Festival.

“Arts in the Grass”

Funding to use art as a diversional therapy to encourage activities not involving alcohol and drugs.   This project aims to encourage sustenance of individual’s culture and personal history, using art as a platform to address issues such as trauma, stigma and personal experiences living in the Darwin’s long grass.  This program will employ an artistic coordinator and other art workers.

“Creative Metal Community Workshop”

Funding for development of skills in creative metal working by providing experienced instructors in an organised workshop space.  A range of techniques including forge work, cold bending, brazing, welding, cutting and casting will be used and developed.

Funding for the development and coordination of a cultural exchange display called 'Meeting Place 2010' to be hosted across numerous venues in Canberra as part of National Aboriginal and Islander Day Observance Committee week 2010.
