Artists in Schools
The Artists in Schools Program is a partnership between the Department of Natural Resources, Environment and the Arts (NRETA, Arts NT) and the Department of Employment, Education and Training (DEET).
Objectives
- Placement of practising professional artists within schools to work on specific projects.
- Provide students, teachers, parents and the wider community with firsthand opportunities to work with professional artists over a period of time, experiencing the creative processes, skills, attitudes and disciplines of that artist's work.
- Enriching school arts programs and encourages future artists and arts audiences in all art forms.
Eligibility
Only schools are eligible to apply.
Artists are encouraged to contact schools to develop partnerships and proposals.
Assessments are made by a dedicated AiS committee, which includes community, arts and government representatives.
Artists in Schools is managed by the Department of Employment, Education and Training (DEET).
