Useful Tips to Write Acquittals
Acquittal reports allow Arts NT to fulfil its accountability obligations to the Northern Territory Government. The reports show whether funded activities achieved measurable outcomes in the chosen area of operation and reached the targeted audience.
The reports are also important to the development and promotional work of Arts NT, as it helps us to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the Arts Grants Program.
The information gathered can provide a way of documenting your arts activities and may be essential for seeking collaborations and funding towards future arts activities. Please remember that thoroughly acquitted funding may be also of advantage for future funding applications.
Documentation
It will be useful for Arts NT to receive documentation towards the artistic report to show that the activity has taken place and has sparked the intended outcomes. Such documentation can consist of:
- images, video or audio records
- participant feedback
- received print media including advertising
- radio coverage
You can allow Arts NT to use your provided images or documentation to promote NT arts and culture as well as the NT Arts Grant Program by opting yes in the acquittal form. Arts NT then may get in contact with you to talk to you about purposes for the images or texts provided and will get you to sign a Talent Release Form. This form gives Arts NT the permission to use your images or documentation for the discussed purpose and can include conditions that you may put in place.
Financials
The financial report allows Arts NT to provide information to the Northern Territory Government about what Arts NT funding was used for. Based on your budget you provided with your application, you should give explanations of any differences between the proposed and actual budget.
Intellectual Copyright
The copyright of the work created or supported through funding from Arts NT remains with the artist/ arts organisation, unless the work was commissioned by Arts NT for a specific purpose. In this case Arts NT will enter into a copyright agreement with the commissioned artist. This is different from a Talent Release Form.
