Northern Territory Government Apprenticeships
NRETAS is currently offering apprenticeships for people identifying as Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander, to commence in February 2010.
Apprenticeships are available in the following career paths and locations:
- Horticulture (Alice Springs Desert Park)
- Captive Animals (Alice Springs Desert Park)
- Tourism – Guiding (Alice Springs Desert Park & Territory Wildlife Park)
- Conservation and Land Management (Batchelor, Cobourg & Borroloola)
Other Northern Territory Government agencies are also offering apprenticeships which may be of interest. For further information on how to apply refer to the Recruitment Information Handbook. Closing date is 30 October 2009.
Potential applicants are invited to attend a general information session run by the Employment Programs Unit, Department of Business and Employment. The sessions are aimed to provide candidates with specific information in order to assist them with their application, along with other important details about the apprenticeship program. Sessions are free and will be held in Alice Springs, Darwin and Katherine in mid October. All applicants are required to undergo an aptitude test. The aptitude test is centrally administered by Group Training NT in Darwin, Katherine and Alice Springs and will take place AFTER the application closing date.
