DRAFT REGULATIONS FOR "RIGHTS OF THE TERMINALLY ILL" ACT
RELEASED FOR PUBLIC COMMENT
Health Services Minister Fred Finch has announced that the Draft
Regulations for the "Rights of the Terminally Ill" Act are to be released
to Parliamentarians and interested groups today for comment.
"Given the interest from Members of the Legislative Assembly and a
number of special interest groups, Government has decided to make the
Draft Regulations available before they are presented to Executive
Council," Mr Finch said.
"Responses should be pertinent to the Draft Regulations," said Mr
Finch. "They should be relevant to the Working Party Report and not based
on the philosophical pros and cons of voluntary euthanasia."
Copies of the Draft Regulations will be available from the front
counter at Parliament House or by phoning the Attorney-General's office on
08 89996811.
