MEDIA RELEASEMINISTER FOR HEALTH SERVICES MINISTER FOR PUBLIC EMPLOYMENT MINISTER FOR THE LIQUOR COMMISSION HON FRED FINCH MLA 5 June 1996 DRAFT REGULATIONS FOR "RIGHTS OF THE TERMINALLY ILL" ACT RELEASED FOR PUBLIC COMMENTHealth Services Minister Fred Finch has announced that the Draft Regulations for the "Rights of the Terminally Ill" Act are to be released to Parliamentarians and interested groups today for comment. "Given the interest from Members of the Legislative Assembly and a number of special interest groups, Government has decided to make the Draft Regulations available before they are presented to Executive Council," Mr Finch said. "Responses should be pertinent to the Draft Regulations," said Mr Finch. "They should be relevant to the Working Party Report and not based on the philosophical pros and cons of voluntary euthanasia." Copies of the Draft Regulations will be available from the front counter at Parliament House or by phoning the Attorney-General's office on 08 89996811.
