Parliament Open Day
The Honourable Kezia Purick MLA, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, welcomes visitors to Parliament House for an Open Day on Saturday 22 August 2015 from 9am – 3pm with the theme: the Three Arms of Government. This will be a joint State Square Open Day with the Supreme Court (9am – 3pm) and Government House (2pm – 6pm) also opening their doors.
Events at Parliament House will include:
- Tours of Parliament House
- Special tour about construction of State Square
- Chamber chat about the Three Arms of Government
- Chamber chat with past members
- Range of exhibits in Main Hall
Speaker’s Corner Café, the NT Craft Council shop and Northern Territory Library will also be open on the day.For further information click here
Represent the Northern Territory at the 7th Commonwealth Youth Parliament 2015 in Darwin.
The Legislative Assembly of the Northern Territory is looking for four young people to represent the Territory as delegates to the 7th Commonwealth Youth Parliament to be held in Darwin from 1 to 5 November 2015.
If you are aged between 18 and 29 years and want to represent the Northern Territory at this exciting event, you are invited to apply to the Northern Territory branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA).
You’ll have demonstrated your ability to provide leadership in youth organisations; have highly developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills with the proven ability to liaise effectively with people from diverse cultures; as well as knowledge of the Northern Territory and national youth issues.
If this sounds like you, please complete this nomination form, a cover letter of no more than one page addressing the above selection criteria and your Curriculum Vitae, including two referees. Please email your application to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Your travel (return airfare), accommodation and costs associated with the programme will be met. The closing date for applications is close of business Friday, 31 July 2015.

Conditions of Entry
1. The Competition is open to Northern Territory students of any age enrolled in middle school, senior school or in tertiary institution.
2. Entries must be submitted by 4:00 pm, Friday 14 August 2015.
3. To enter, submit your form to email@example.com and your three-minute video via:
(a) A link to your video through a video sharing website (such as Youtube or Vimeo), and
(b) Please include a title of your video (you may also like to include a short description up to 50 words).
4. Only one entry per eligible Northern Territory student (no group entries allowed). Click here for further information.
