Parliament House Facilities

Parliament House has a number of rooms and other areas that may be hired for functions, exhibitions, conferences and meetings, subject to the approval of the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly.
In cases where conference and function facilities are hired by external organisations, commercial charge rates for the use of those facilities, will apply.
Inquiries relating to Parliament House facilities should be directed to Office of the Speaker. Users of the Parliament House facilities should familiarise themselves with the Function and Facilities Manual.

In addition to the above facilities available for hire, the following external facilities are also housed in Parliament House.
The entrance to the Northern Territory Library is located in the Main Reception Hall directly opposite the ceremonial entrance to the Legislative Assembly Chamber. It provides reference and research services to the Northern Territory community as well as containing an extensive collection on the Northern Territory.
The Library also includes a Parliamentary Library Service for Members of the Legislative Assembly, their staff, staff of the Department of the Legislative Assembly and the Office of the Administrator.
Normal opening hours for the Northern Territory Library, as from 1 July 2009, are from 10.00am to 5.00pm Mondays to Fridays and 1.00pm to 5.00pm on Saturdays and Sundays. During sittings of the Legislative Assembly, Parliamentary Library Services extend to 8.00pm.
This shop is a subsidiary of the Crafts Council of the Northern Territory and is located in the main entrance foyer of Parliament House opposite the reception.
All items available for sale in the shop have been crafted by Northern Territory artists and craftpersons and include screen-printed fabrics, clothing, ceramics and woodcraft items.
Subject
to the availability of volunteer staff, the craft shop is open from 09.30am
to 3.30pm Mondays to Fridays and from 09.00 to 2.00pm on Saturdays.

The coffee shop can be accessed from the Main Reception Hall or the adjacent area of Speaker's Green. It is open from 8.00am to 4.00pm Mondays to Fridays. The coffee shop offers a range of meals, light refreshments, coffee and alcoholic refreshments. The Speaker's Corner Cafe can be contacted on 89461439.
