Interim Development Control Order
Before amending a Planning Scheme, the Minister may make an interim development control order (IDCO) by notice in the Gazette.
An IDCO, while it is in place, may override or suspend the application of some or all of the development provisions, or introduce controls, in relation to that land.
The IDCO may nominate the Minister or a Division of the DCA to be the consent authority for that land.
An order may not be made for a period longer than 2 years and on its expiry cannot be replaced by another similar order until after 3 months have elapsed.
