Exceptional development permit

A person may apply to the Minister for an exceptional development permit (EDP).

The Minister may grant an EDP, allowing a use that would otherwise be prohibited under a Planning Scheme.

The underlying zone remains unchanged and revives whenever the permit ceases to apply.

Applications for EDPs are treated as if they were proposals to amend a Planning Scheme (ie in terms of public exhibition, etc).
