Developer contributions
A service authority (eg a local council) may make a contribution plan, under which a developer will be required, as a condition of a development permit, to make a contribution towards car parking or other infrastructure external to the development.
An example is the Litchfield Council’s contribution plan providing for contributions by subdividers towards upgrading the road network and drainage on which the subdivision will have an impact. Currently, contribution plans may only be made for car parking, roads and drainage, but other forms of infrastructure could be prescribed in the Regulations.
