Planning in the NT

Strategic Lands Planning is responsible for developing strategic plans and policies for the sustainable long term use and development of land in the Northern Territory.

This is achieved through the investigation and analysis of growth trends, constraints, opportunities and land availability in consultation with key stakeholders such as community organisations, developers, landowners, residents, investors, business owners, visitors, built environment professionals and politicians.

The Development Assessment Services Program provides for the development assessment and control processes within the provisions of the Planning Act. The program also provides professional advice and administration support to Government, the Development Consent Authority, industry and the community, on the use of land.
