Land for sale at Johnston

The announced release of the next stage of the suburb of Johnston for new homes, open space and a neighbourhood centre sees another opportunity for the local development community to showcase their skills and abilities in developing a design ready and approved residential suburb.

Johnston Stage 2 is expected to support the development of up to 583 dwellings to house Territorians over the next three years.

The development rights will be offered as a Crown Lease convertible to freehold upon completion of development.

Stage 1 – Invitation for Application to Prequalify closed on Friday 2 July 2010 at 2pm CST.

 

Johnston releases to date

The previously announced release of two prime Zone MD (Multiple Dwelling Residential) sites by tender saw another opportunity for the local development community to showcase their skills and abilities in the construction of new homes in the new suburb of Johnston.

The sites are expected to support the development of at least 30 dwellings to house Territorians within the next two years.

Both sites will be offered as Crown Leases convertible to freehold upon completion of development.

Tenders closed on Friday 28 May 2010. Completed tenders submitted are currently being assessed. The awarding of tender will be announced in the coming weeks.

In January 2010, the Territory released Zone MR (Medium Density Residential) sites within stage one of Johnston. A Crown lease for Lot 10287 has been issued to local company Mousellis Properties Pty Ltd for the construction residential dwellings.  It is intended that 15% of the dwellings within this development will be delivered as affordable housing, targeting eligible purchasers under HomeStart criteria


Lot 10286 currently remains Crown land within Zone MR and Government is investigating options for the future release of this site for residential development.

The April release of two prime Zone MD (Multiple Dwelling Residential) sites by tender closed 28 May 2010 with tenders currently being assessed. An announcement will be made in the coming weeks.
