Cadastral Co-ordination
The Cadastral Co-ordination Unit provides the cadastral infrastructure for the spatial accuracy upgrade of the Digital Cadastral Data Base (DCDB) to support the new cadastral survey system and streamline land development processes.
The Unit
- Assists with projects that reform the cadastral system and framework. Such as construction and location of permanent marks and co-ordination of title boundaries base on the NT Geodetic Network
- Assists with the development of methodologies to up load co-ordinated cadastral data to the DCDB via the use of standard software packages
- Assists with the maintenance of cadastral Co-ordinated Reference Marks (CRMs)
- Provides support for private sector in calibration of EDME instruments and tape.
Equipment calibration
In the NT there are two baselines to calibrate EDME instruments, located at Howard Springs, Darwin and adjacent to Colonel Rose Drive, Alice Springs.
Essentially the baseline comprises of concrete pillars that have been certified under the National Measurement Act (1960).
Steel bands can also be calibrated at baselines located at the Darwin High School and Charles Creek in Alice Springs.
