The Committee for Geographical Names in Australasia (CGNA) of which the Place Names Committee is an active member has developed a number of educational resources to educate the public in the importance of place names.

Also as a service to the public, links are provided to a number of Australian and International place name sites and gazetteers.

Whilst the Committee has determined that the Register will only provide base information on the history and/or origin of a place name. More information can be obtained by checking the further reading list.
