Land Information
The Department of Planning and Infrastructure is the lead agency for spatial information in the Northern Territory Government, largely delivered through the Land Information Division.
Land Information delivers its services through a number of business units:
Survey – provides the statutory functions of the Surveyor-General, geodetic and cadastral (or land boundaries) infrastructure, maintains and interprets current and historical land records and supports the Surveryors Board and Place Names Committee for the Northern Territory.
Land Information Services - provides whole of government aerial photography, satellite imagery and topographic information programs, generates products and services from integrating spatial data and delivers services through Land Information Centres.
Valuation Services – provides the statutory functions of the Valuer--General and statutory and commercial land and property valuations for the Northern Territory and local governments.
NT Land Information System Services – provides integrated spatial information systems and services to the Department and other government agencies and coordinates land information initiatives across Northern Territory, local and Australian governments.
