Land Administration
The Land Administration Division resides within the Lands Group of the Department of Planning and Infrastructure. The Division is responsible for coordinating and managing Crown land and facilitating land use for economic development. It also helps meet the social needs of the community through land grants and facilitates outcomes in relation to Aboriginal land issues.
What we do:
- Maintain Crown land
- Sell Crown land
- Administer Crown leases and licences
- Acquire land and other interests
- Provide advice and resources pursuant to land claims under the Aboriginal Land Rights (NT) Act (Cth)
- Process applications for excisions of Aboriginal living areas from pastoral leases
