Creating a new city

Creating a new city is a complex process that will take many years – but we are taking the first important steps now.

The Weddell: Tropical, Sustainable, Liveable Towards 2030 Conference and Design Forum at the Darwin Convention Centre commenced 27 September 2010.

• The Weddell: Tropical, Sustainable, Liveable Towards 2030 Conference and Design Forum was held from 27 September until 1 October 2010. Over 370 registrations were received.

• The Weddell Ideas Competition open to students and members of the community resulted in over 130 entries in all. View the Results
  
  
• Comments and ideas are coming in from community members and other stakeholders and their input will be a valuable part of the future development of Weddell. Hear what others have said

• Weddell Design Competitions Registration are now closed and a public exhibition will be held on 29 November till 16 December 2011. Come and be inspired by the creative competition entries and photographic works of historical and contemporary tropical architecture.
