Composition of the Tribunal
The Tribunal generally consists of:
- Chairman
a person who has been enrolled as a legal practitioner of the High Court or the Supreme Court of a State or Territory for not less than 10 years; is a Judge of the Supreme Court of the Northern Territory or a magistrate or is practising as a legal practitioner in the Territory.
- Deputy Chairman
a person who has the qualifications required above .
- 2 other members appointed by the Minister:
one person appointed from a panel of 3 nominated by the relevant Land Council; and
one person appointed from a panel of 3 nominated by the relevant pastoral organisation.
