NT Crime Prevention Grant SchemeThe Northern Territory Government supports community efforts to tackle the causes of crime through crime prevention grants funding. The $400,000 NT Crime Prevention Grant Scheme is available annually, to support community crime prevention projects that build safer communities. The Building Safer Communities Framework is available on line and provides detailed descriptions of Government’s priorities. Grants of up to $20 000 per project are provided for worthwhile, innovative and creative crime prevention and community safety programs that address any or all of the key themes in the Building Safer Communities Framework. Applicants seeking more than this may be considered if there are demonstrated linkages with existing community safety strategies and/or other project work, and a sound partnership approach is explained in the application. The Office of Crime Prevention provides assistance and advice to community groups wishing to apply for crime prevention grants. The Office can be contacted on 8935 7432 or email crime.prevention@nt.gov.au Applicants are encouraged to contact their local Regional or Indigenous Crime Prevention Council before submitting applications.
