Reducing Violence: A Crime Prevention Forum

Mirambeena Resort, Darwin
24-25 November 2004

Introduction:

“Reducing Violence: A Crime Prevention Forum” was a meeting of Regional and Indigenous Crime Prevention Councils and relevant government agencies and non-government organisations.

The Forum is an initiative of Building Safer Communities: A Framework for Crime Prevention and Safety 2004-2009, and was hosted by the Office of Crime Prevention, NT Department of Justice, and NT Police, Fire & Emergency Services.

The purpose of the Forum was to discuss many important issues surrounding violence in the community and to showcase the work being done by both Regional and Indigenous Crime Prevention Councils across the Territory.

The Forum was officially opened by the Hon Dr Peter Toyne, Minister for Justice.
