Unclaimed Monies
Certain categories of unclaimed monies either revert back to Northern Territory Treasury, or Treasury must give prior approval for their release.
These are:
- Unclaimed funds from phone or internet betting accounts.
- Tattersall's wins where the prize-winning tickets have been issued but are unclaimed for over 12 months.
- Unclaimed keno wins where the ticket was issued over 12 months previously.
Unclaimed funds from phone or internet betting accounts
Phone betting or internet betting accounts require the person to provide ID within 90 days of opening the accounts. Funds or winnings cannot be withdrawn from the accounts until suitable ID is provided.
Unclaimed Tattersall's wins over 12 months
If the prize on a winning ticket is unclaimed and the ticket is over 12 months old the funds are transferred to Northern Territory Treasury.

If the ticket is less than 12 months old, take the ticket to an agent who will check the ticket and issue the prize (usually within about 8 weeks of the ticket being issued), if the agent's time period has expired then refer to Tattersall's as they will deal with the claim within the first 12 months.
Unclaimed Keno wins over 12 months
Generally Keno wins can be claimed from any Northern Territory Keno outlet on presentation of the ticket, within 12 months of issue.
A winning keno ticket presented for payment after twelve (12) calendar months from the date of purchase shall be referred to the Director of Licensing. The Director of Licensing may approve the payment on presentation of the original keno ticket and such other proof of entitlement as may be required.
