Prison Officer Recruiting

Recruiting Experienced Prision Officers

Working for Northern Territory Correctional Services

Correctional Services in the Northern Territory has always been unique, from the days when a prison cell was inside a Boab Tree.

This uniqueness continues today. A career with the Northern Territory Correctional Services offers challenging, interesting and varied work. With a large indigenous population and vastly spread out community base, Correctional Services officers often work in an environment not experienced in other jurisdictions. Programs and projects are particularly distinctive with their own special Territory look, feel and delivery.

As well, the service is moving forward to adopt best practice and a whole-of-Government approach to crime reduction and healthier, safer communities. While the Northern Territory Correctional Services is one of the smaller correctional services in Australia, it is undergoing changes that will see it become one of the most modern and professional correctional organisations in the nation.

This is an opportunity to be part of a dynamic and diverse career in a community like no other.

Living in the Northern Territory

The Territory spans from the lush, tropical Top End to the arid and spectacular Central Australia.

In the Top End, the seasons are Dry (May-Oct) or Wet (Nov-April). In Central Australia the four seasons kick in. But no matter what the weather, the Territory offers residents an enviable lifestyle with quality health, education, sporting and entertainment facilities.
