An operational mobile phone consists of a handset, call plan and connection to a mobile phone network. Call plans may involve an up front payment, minimum monthly payments, call charges, access to additional features such as voicemail and a free call feature.
Some service providers or carriers charge per 30 second blocks, while others may charge per second. They may also include flag fall charges and peak and off peak rates.
