Asbestos Exposure Register
NT WorkSafe, other government agencies, representatives of
unions, employers, the medical profession, housing associations
and Emergency Services are currently investigating the development
of an asbestos register for people who believe they may have
been exposed to asbestos in work and non-work situations.
In the meantime:
If you have been exposed to asbestos fibres in the course
of your work, contact NT
WorkSafe.
If you have been exposed to asbestos fibres in the course
of your work and you are a government worker complete an incident
form and submit to DCIS. (Form can only be accessed from
the NT Government network.)
If you have been exposed to asbestos fibres in a domestic
situation, record the details and obtain any witness details,
photographs, etc. They will be useful for future reference
and will assist if you need to apply to be put on the register.
