About

Infrastructure Services provides strategic and policy advice on infrastructure planning, infrastructure research and development initiatives and capital works project definitions. The group is also responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the Asset Management System on a whole of government basis including the provision of technical specifications and completed plans for all Government construction works.

Infrastructure Services provides professional advice and services to government agencies to ensure:

  • all agencies acquire and manage their built assets through a single, integrated process;
  • government built assets support agency service delivery at optimal lifecycle cost;
  • develop and maintain whole-of-government asset management system; and
  • government programs support a viable and sustainable local design and construction industry.

Infrastructure Services is structured into three branches:

  • Infrastructure Development provides strategic advice and policy on a whole-of-government basis for infrastructure planning, infrastructure research and development initiatives and the scoping and definition of capital works projects.  The team is also responsible for the delivery of the quarterly construction snapshot publication that provides an overview of construction activity (>1mil) across all sectors in the Northern Territory.
  • Asset Management Services key responsibility is to implement an off the shelf asset management system to replace a suite of specialised purpose built systems to support the core function of asset management cycle.
  • Technical Specifications main function is to provide strategic advice and support in the development and maintenance of specification and documentation systems for construction, maintenance, service, supply and consultancies for the Northern Territory Government.
