Infrastructure Services Division
About Us
The Infrastructure Services Division, within the Department of Planning and Infrastructure (DPI), is responsible for providing professional advice and services to government agencies to ensure:
- all agencies acquire and manage their built assets through a single, integrated and rigorous process;
- government built assets support agency service delivery at optimal lifecycle cost;
- government programs support a viable and sustainable local design and construction industry; and
- DPI procurement activities meet government requirements and industry expectations.
Specifically the Division is to:
- provide full support and assistance to agencies, throughout the built asset acquisition process, to ensure that all major project proposals satisfy government requirements;
- review representative post construction reports and post occupancy reports, take action to continually improve the built infrastructure acquisition process and ensure that Functional Design Briefs accurately reflect agency service delivery requirements before construction commences;
- ensure that the design and construction industry are satisfied with the level of consultation and their involvement in all stages of the built asset acquisition process and provide a annual collaborative report to government on the state of the industry within the Territory; and
- ensure that tendering processes are competitive and transparent and that annual audits show increasing compliance with procurement regulations.
