Wangi Falls Centre

Overview

The Department of Infrastructure on behalf of the Department of Natural Resources, Environment, The Arts and Sport, is project managing the construction of a new centre at Wangi Falls, in Litchfield National Park.

Wangi Falls, Litchfield National Park.

Stage 1 includes:

  • Sewerage treatment plant
  • Loading bay area
  • New generator building
  • Gas tank enclosure

Stage 2 includes:

  • An enclosed area to hold Indigenous art workshops/ demonstrations and to sell local art
  • Souvenir shop
  • Inside dining area to accommodate 20 people
  • Outside dining area to accommodate 88 people
  • Air-conditioned campsite office and storage space
  • Kitchen
  • Staff toilets
  • Pathways to campground and Wangi Falls
  • Installation of solar power and back-up gas generator
  • Associated services (power, water, drainage)

April 2012

Completion of works

  • Stage 1 scheduled for completion June 2012
  • Stage 2 scheduled for completion January 2013
