Stuart Highway/Virginia Road intersection upgrade
Overview
The intersection of Stuart Highway/Virginia Road will be upgraded.
This federally funded project is delivered under the Australian Government's 'Nation Building Program, Network Infrastructure Road Safety Initiatives including Fatigue Management.
Location
Stuart Highway/Virginia Road, Virginia.
Scope of works
The upgrade will include:
- Widening of turning lanes
- Installation of new traffic islands in median strip
- Permanent relocation of bus stop on Virginia Road
- Installation of street lighting.
Commencement of works
Works are scheduled to begin Monday 29 April, 2013.

WORKS COMMENCE
Road works commence Monday 29 April, 2013 at the intersection of Stuart Highway/Virginia Road, Virginia.
Traffic management will be present and motorists and pedestrians are asked to adhere to all signage and restrictions in place.
Lane closures and speed restrictions are expected.
Work is expected to be complete by late July 2013.
