Arnhem Highway Pavement Upgrades
Overview
The Department of Infrastructure on behalf of the Department of Transport is upgrading the pavement on the Arnhem Highway at various locations.
These works are part of the Federal Government's $20M commitment to upgrade the Arnhem Highway.
The works will include stabilising the existing pavement, laying a 200mm overlay then sealing.
Section one works:
Between 8km and 8.95km's from the Arnhem/Stuart Highway intersection (from Trippe Road), Humpty Doo.
- Earthworks - complete
- Modifications to access to properties - complete
- Seeding of verges - complete
Section two works:
Between 15km and 16km's on Arnhem Highway (before Caine Road), Humpty Doo.
- Works commenced 31 January
- Existing culvert extended - complete
- Earthworks - complete
- Line marking - complete
- Guide posts - complete
Section three works:
Between 18.18km and 20.4km's on Arnhem Highway, Humpty Doo.
- Culvert works commenced on Monday 11 March, 2013 (weather permitting) with anticipated completion late June. Culvert works at Lagoon Road are expected to proceed concurrently with construction of the first 500m section of the Arnhem Highway from 18.18km. Successive 500m sections of road works will follow (weather permitting).
Traffic management will be present and motorists are advised to heed all traffic devices and speed limits in place around the road works.
Works are subject to weather.
