Royal Darwin Hospital Patient Accommodation Precinct

Overview

The Department of Construction and Infrastructure is project managing the construction of two accommodation facilities at the Royal Darwin Hospital. Construction will take place on behalf of the Department of Health and Aboriginal Hostels Ltd.

Short- term Patient Accommodation
50 self- contained units with ensuites.

Indigenous Mothers’ Accommodation
8 self-contained units with 16 beds and ensuites.

Benefits

• The new facilities will alleviate the pressure on existing short term and other accommodation providers around Darwin.

Location

Royal Darwin Hospital, adjacent to the existing Radiation Oncology Facility.

Commencement of works

April 2011.

Date of completion

Target date for completion:

• Short-Term Patient Accommodation - May 2012
• Indigenous Mothers' Accommodation - December 2011
