Engineering Co-op Scholarship Program
The Engineering Co-op Scholarship is a joint initiative of DoI and Charles Darwin University (CDU). The Scholarship is designed to attract and maintain the Territory's high achieving students by offering full time tertiary study with CDU and work experience placements within the department for the duration of the tertiary study.- DoI offer scholarship placements each year and students need to apply directly to CDU.
- To be eligible for the scholarship program students must achieve a tertiary entrance ranking score of 85 or higher and be eligible to enrol in and engineering degree at CDU.
- Disciplines included in the scholarship program are: Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical and Electrical)
- Scholarship holders receive a stipend of up to $16 500 in GST per annum for the duration of the 4 ½ year program.
- Throughout the program scholars will complete paid work placements at A02 level with DoI during the mid and end of year university breaks.
- In the third year of the degree students complete a paid (AO2 level) 24 month work placement which is included as credit point towards your degree.
- Over the 4 ½ year programs students are rotated through multiple areas within DoI for their work placement to ensure maximum exposure to the industry.
- At the end of the scholarship and upon successful completion of the Degree scholarship students are eligible to apply for the Graduate Development Program.
