Power up resetting

Press and hold all four button simultaneously for 2 seconds, or use a plastic pin or toothpick to press the reset key once.

At power up or system reset, all LCD segments turn on for 2 seconds. Then the clock starts counting from 0:00 (24 hours system).

Manual override

To override the timer in operation, simply press DAY/O'RIDE key in this mode. The switching status will be 'toggled' between override 'on' (instru4) and 'off' (crossdot) each time the key is pressed. The override function cancels automatically when the next programmed 'on/off' cycle begins.

 

Programming mode

To program timer on/off times, press the 'PROG' button. Pre-existing programming will be shown. (This can be cleared by resetting, see 'Power up resetting'). If none are programmed, display will flash this:

To select first 'switch on' time, press the HOUR key until the desired hour is reached, then the MIN/SM instru3 WT key for the desired minute. To set the first 'switch off' time, press PROG and select hours and minutes as before. You may set up to 6 'on/off' cycles by pressing the PROG key after each one is set. If you want to set less than 6, simply keep pressing the PROG key until you see this flashing:

Block programming mode

You may set your timer to operate on one or more days in a block, the choices being:

  1. At the times set, on every 7th day (eg. every Friday, every Tuesday etc.)
  2. At the times set, Monday through Friday.
  3. At the times set, Saturday and Sunday only.
  4. At the times set, every day.

The day (or block of days) that a given 'on/off' cycle is programmed to operate are shown by the dots above the day indication, like this:

In this example, the 'on' cycle is set for Monday through Friday.

To set or change blocks

Enter the programming mode. For each 'on/off' cycle programmed, you may select a different block as follows:

For the first 'switch on' time, press the DAY/O'RIDE key until the desired day or block is indicated by the dots. Note that the 'switch off' time automatically uses the same block setting. Proceed to set blocks for the remaining 'on/off' cycles as above.

 

Clock mode

During clock mode, the LCD displays:

  • Day of the week (Monday at system reset)
  • Clock (0:00 at system reset)
  • Switching status (OFF at system reset)
  • 'R' character if random switching is selected. (No 'R' displayed at system reset)

Summer/winter time adjustment

This function allows you to quickly adjust your clock and on/off cycles for daylight saving without having to re-program them all. To enter this mode press the

Clock setting mode

To enter the clock setting mode, press the PROG key several times until an instru8  icon appears.

In this mode, the display will flash like this:

Press the HOUR/RAN key to set the hour:

Similarly, press the MIN/SM instru3 WT key to set the minute:

For the day setting, press the DAY/O'RIDE key to move the dot from left to right. the abbreviation below the dot represents the corresponding day of the week.

The clock setting mode is exited by pressing the PROG key once or leaving the timer for 1 minute without any key pressed.

 

Random operation

To activate random:

  • Press the HOUR/RAN key for 3 seconds in the clock mode. The character 'R' appears on the LCD. The random feature is now operating.

Random on/off pattern:

  • Time duration will be between 10 to 30 minutes. The 24-hour pattern will not be repeated the next day.

To deactivate random:

  • Switch 'random' off by depressing HOUR/RAN key for 3 seconds (in the clock mode) until the 'R' disappears.

Note: The random on/off pattern(s) is/are only operative inside a preset on/off cycle. if user has not preset any on/off cycles or the on/off duration of any program is less than 10 minutes, random operation is not available.

Trouble shooting

Trouble Possible Cause
LCD too dim Battery voltage too low. plug the timer into socket and let it charge for approx. 1 day.
LCD 'hang up', 
No key response
Sudden rise or drop in supply voltage. detach the timer from the socket and reset it. (See 'Power up resetting'.)

Warning: Do not attempt to disassemble the unit. No user serviceable parts inside.

Caution: The timer is for indoor use only. Avoid placing it near fire, high temperature or in humid environments.
