Headspace
Headspace is Australia's new National Youth Mental Health Foundation. Headspace is changing the way that mental health services are delivered to young people across Australia with an emphasis on youth-friendly environments and improved accessibility. Funding made available by the Australian Government is enabling headspace to improve access and and care for teenagers and young adults aged 12 to 25 years. More

The Foundation for Young Australians
The Foundation for Young Australians is a dynamic, not-for-profit organisation committed to developing innovative initiatives that support and empower the lives of young Australians, aged 12 to 25 years. Each year, The Foundation manages a portfolio of grants for initiatives that help provide young people with opportunities to reach their full potential and make a valuable contribution to the community. Youth Portal, the Australian Government
The Youth Portal provides access to online information on Commonwealth government awards, grants and scholarships available to young people aged 12 to 25 years. The Youth Portal links to hundreds of resources across a range of Commonwealth agencies and departments, and encourages youth sector networking and information sharing. More.

Department of Families, Housing, Communtiy Services and Indigenous Affairs, the Australian Government
The Stronger Families and Communities Strategy is an Australian Government initiative giving families, their children and communities the opportunity to build a better future. Through this program, there is funding support available to help communities build capacity and to develop strategies to strengthen families. More.

The Northern Territory Area Consultative Committee, the Australian Government
Through the Australian Government, the NTACC provides Regional Partnerships funding to make it simpler for communities to get Government backing for their regional development ideas. Regional Partnerships is based on a partnership approach, which enables local communities to develop their own priorities and then access government support to help make them a reality. More.

Rio Tinto Aboriginal Fund
The Rio Tinto Aboriginal Fund provides support to a number of programs that are initiated and/or supported by Indigenous Aboriginal Communities. Health is one of the five areas of focus. Research is supported where it incorporates a community program. Rio Tinto calls for applications four times a year and the next deadline is 10 May 2008. More.

Optus Connecting Communities Grants
Optus is encouraging Not for Profit organisations nationally to apply for grants of up to $5,000 to reduce social isolation for those in need and reconnect disengaged youth in the community. Australian Not for Profit community organisations working in the following areas are eligible to apply for a grant.

Disengaged Youth – are adolescents and young adults (up to the age of 25) who have become disengaged from society due to lack of education, skills training and employment opportunities; homelessness; substance abuse; and poverty.
Social Isolation – encompasses social, physical, emotional and geographic isolation. Grant applications should demonstrate how projects will promote and enhance social inclusion such as building social networks, increasing participation in community or family life, or providing access to services such as health and education.

In late 2008, Optus Connecting Communities Grants Program will award at least 20 grants between $1000 and $5,000 (including GST) to programs that aim to deliver positive social outcomes in the community by creating new opportunities, access to education, strengthening support networks and connecting young people to community life. The Australia Council for the Arts
The Australia Council for the Arts is the Australian Government’s arts funding and advisory body. It directly supports young, emerging and established artists. More.

Australian Clearinghouse for Youth Studies
The Australian Clearinghouse for Youth Studies (ACYS) is a not-for-profit organisation partly funded by the Australian Government through the Youth Bureau, Department of Family and Community Services. The website has heaps of links to funding and sponsorship sources. ACYS operates under the auspices of the Faculty of Education, University of Tasmania. More.

Social Ventures Australia
Social Ventures Australia (SVA), Australia's first venture philanthropy organisation, was established in 2002 by the Benevolent Society, The Smith Family, WorkVentures and AMP Foundation. Its aim is to integrate the Australian public, corporate and social sectors to create entrepreneurial, innovative and results-driven solutions to Australia's social problems. More.

Australian National Commission - UNESCO Grant Scheme
Up to $75,000 is available annually to be divided amongst competing Australian projects. The National Commission decide which projects are to be funded, and the level of funds approved for each project. More.

The Anna Wearne Trust will, by ensuring funds are provided to appropriate charitable institutions, create opportunities for young people to reach their potential, where such potential is hampered due to disadvantage or inequality. More.
