Sexual Health Statistics for the Northern Territory

What do these mean for you as a young person?

(STI= Sexual Transmitted Infection, HIV= Human Immunodeficiency Virus)

As a young person you should take interest in the above graph that shows young people aged between 15 and 25 yrs have the highest rate of STI's in the Northern Territory.

Most chlamydia and gonorrhoea (the most common STIs) infections do not have symptoms, people can pass them on without knowing they have them - using condoms and lube reduce the risk of getting an infection. Having a test is the only way to know if you have an infection!!!!
