Alice Springs Hospital (ASH) is a Special Teaching Hospital for Flinders University, Northern Territory University, University of Sydney, University of NSW and the University of SA.

It is the campus for The Centre for Remote Health and the Flinders University NT Clinical School for final year GEMP Medical Students. It also has a strong relationship with the Menzies School of Health Research in Alice Springs and Darwin.

The Hospital through its links with the Universities is a site for clinical placement for post-graduate Midwifery training.

The Workforce Development Unit of Alice Springs Hospital, offers many training and education programs including a First Year Graduate Program for tertiary trained nurses.

A comprehensive Inservice Education Program is available to all nursing staff including Courses in Orthopaedic Nursing, Neonatal Nursing, Paediatrics, Critical Care and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
 

An Aboriginal Cultural Awareness Program is part of the normal Orientation Program for all staff.
