A series of public forums will be held in Darwin, Alice Springs, Tennant Creek, Katherine and Nhulunbuy.
At this stage we have confirmed;
- Forum Dates
- Tennant Creek - Monday 10th September 2pm and 6pm, Tuesday 11th 9am at Tennant Creek Hospital.
- Alice Springs on Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th 10am and 2pm both day at the Alice Springs Hospital - Education Unit.We will be organising an evening session for Wednesday 12th - venue TBC
We would like consultation to be completed by the 31st October 2007.

The following Codes of practice/guidelines apply to the pest control industry in the NT
manufacturers, wholesalers or retailers
guidelines and application forms:
Wholesalers and Manufacturers of Therapeutic Goods for Human Use are
required to comply with the Australian Code of Good Wholesaling Practice for Therapeutic Goods for Human Use.
Manufacturers of Products containing Scheduled Substances (drugs and poisons)
are required to comply with A Guide to Labelling Drugs and Poisons.
Retailers, Wholesalers and Manufacturers of Agricultural and Veterinary (Agvet) chemicals are required to participate in Agsafe accreditation.

Guidelines
- The Schedule 8 and Restricted Schedule 4 Clinical Practice Guidelines 2nd edition
published in the government Gazette on 30 April 2008. The prescribing and and supply of
Schedule 8 substances must conform with these Guidelines as required under section 31X
of the Poisons and Dangerous Drugs Act.

Businesses, organisations and health professionals producing/supplying Schedule 8 (Controlled Drugs) need to comply with the following Code of Practice.

The NT adopts by reference into the Poisons & Dangerous Drugs Act the Schedules published in the Standard for the Uniform Scheduling of Drugs and Poisons (SUSDP) as published by the Commonwealth under the Therapeutic Goods Act 1989. Details of the distributor and subscription forms are available from the Therapeutic Goods Administration website.

disposal of unwanted medicines
NT consumers are invited to return out of date or unwanted medicines to their local community pharmacy for destruction via the nationally funded Return Unwanted Medicines (RUM) scheme. No medicines are recycled; all are destroyed by approved waste disposal facilities.
