entranceswhere is smoking not permitted?
- 2 metres around
entrances and other doorways to all non-domestic buildings is nonsmoking from
1 January 2003.
- This includes enclosed walkways and doorways to shops,
shopping centres, restaurants, public buildings, hotels, clubs etc.
- If
there is an enclosed entrance to the door of the area, the 2 metre law applies
from where the enclosed entrance starts.
exceptions

For alfresco dining areas (such as courtyards, on balconies and footpaths) that
allow smoking and beer gardens, the rule preventing smoking within 2 metres of
doorways and entrances does not apply.
