| Mental Health Services provide
culturally appropriate, innovative and accessible services to the population of
the Northern Territory by focusing on consumer rights, community needs, quality
of service and strategic resource allocation. Services are provided through:
inpatient facilities (Darwin and Alice Springs) specialist
child and youth services community based adult mental health and forensic
services extended hours teams education and training programs consultation
liaison services to the Royal Darwin and Alice Springs Hospitals, rural
and remote services partnerships in service delivery with non-government
organisations, and Aboriginal communities. Services are delivered
in a culturally sensitive way through a combination of sub programs in a variety
of settings across the Northern Territory. Each service network has the potential
to provide a range of mental health services. Services in rural and remote areas
are often provided by visiting specialists or by consultation with other professionals
in urban regions. |
