The Territory Advisory Committee's Terms of Reference are available here in PDF. If you require the Adobe Acrobat plug-in please click here.

As part of working collaboratively with community partners, the Territory Advisory Committee will be the key mechanism for community participation in:

  • identifying priority areas of need;
  • advising on overall program direction; and
  • consultation on issues including service quality, evaluation and review.

The TAC provides advice to Department of Health and Community Services and the Minister for Health, Family and Children 's Services through the FACS Program. The focus of the advisory committee is the delivery of SAAP in the Northern Territory. In addition, the committee will consider the broader issues affecting homelessness in the Northern Territory and draw on experience and expertise from outside the program to inform their deliberations and advice.

Membership of the committee consists of government officials and community members with knowledge and expertise that can contribute to the achievement of outcomes for SAAP IV in the Northern Territory. It is expected the committee will meet three times a year.

The work of the committee will be supported by two additional groups:

  • provider forums comprised of representatives from SAAP services; and
  • regional forums that will be comprised of SAAP service representatives and local service providers that are SAAP stakeholders.

Provider forums will be held twice a year to coincide with TAC meetings, and regional forums will be held in each of the regional centres once a year.
